Called to Serve - Osorno, Chile

Elder Keenan Robertson is serving in the Osorno Chile Mission as a full time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Elder Robertson left on July 16, 2013 and will return sometime around July of 2015. Missionaries have a limited time to respond to all the E-mails and letters they receive so we will include here some of his letters home so that friends and family can keep up to date on how things are going for him and his ministry among the wonderful people of Chile.

February 3rd, 2014

Things are good here.  I don`t feel good today, I’m kinda sick!  Oh well.  We found a new family today, they are really cool.  They gave us lunch today!  I’m happy, it was good.  I’m bummed about football!  I can`t believe what happened! Ha-ha

The guy with the stroke is good, he can’t come to church this whole month because someone saw him leaving his house and told the doctors!  But he is such a cool guy; he is probably the happiest man I know!  He can sorta walk, just slowly, and with a lot of help.

I saw my first baptism Saturday!  It was the hermanas in my district.  They are in a different ward and their ward hadn`t had a baptism in 2 and a half years!

I think for this next cambio I will leave.  Usually you don`t have more than 2 companions in a sector.
In two weeks my p-day is on Tuesday.  Elder Ballard is going to be in Osorno and there is going to be a missionary conference, I will get to watch it.  I’m pretty nervous, there isn`t a lot of good for him to talk about.  It’s going to be a lot of palos! (Palos is a saying similar to “Chewing out” someone, it translates as “sticks”)  It will still be good.

It’s not acceptable not going to the temple when there are 13 or whatever in Utah.  Ha-ha, when people go to the temple from here it’s a 4 day bus drive!

Sacrament yesterday was really good and I’m excited for this next week.  I’m going to work my guts out again just as soon as I feel better! :)

LOVE YOU TONS! :)
Elder Robertson
